Special Compositional Award (awarded to contemporary music, new age music & pop music) Overview: The Special Compositional Award celebrates the innovative spirits and creative talents of musicians working in contemporary, new age, and pop genres. Its goal is to inspire composers and songwriters to fearlessly explore new musical frontiers, giving birth to fresh sounds and expressions that stir the soul. This award recognizes those who push artistic boundaries, coloring outside the lines and transcending conventions to craft profoundly moving experiences through their music.
Winners are chosen by a panel of esteemed artists, producers, and critics who evaluate entries on originality, musicality, emotional resonance, and potential to captivate listeners' imaginations. The honored musician receives the incredible opportunity to have their winning composition featured across major music streaming platforms. Our online international music competition is crafted to challenge, recognize, and most importantly, forge pathways for you to be celebrated and appreciated by prestigious institutions worldwide.
1. Eligibility: The competition is open exclusively to participants aged between 12 to 19 years at the time of their submission. Proof of age may be required as part of the submission process.
2. Presentation and Submission Format:
Video Link: All participants must submit their presentations in the form of a video link. The video must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo platforms and must be accessible without any restrictions (e.g., no private or password-protected videos).
Electronic Portfolio: In addition to the video link, participants are required to submit an electronic portfolio. This portfolio can be presented as a PDF, Word document, a dedicated website, or a mobile application. It should comprehensively represent the participant's musical achievements, experiences, and any other relevant information that supports their submission.
3. Submission Guidelines:
Submissions must be original and solely the work of the participant.
The video presentation must not exceed a duration of 15 minutes.
The electronic portfolio must be submitted in a format that is easily accessible for review by the judging panel. If the portfolio is presented as a website or an app, clear instructions for access must be provided.
All work must be submitted before the deadline of 19th June 2024 by email to [email protected]before the deadline of 19 June 2024.
4. Intellectual Property: Participants retain ownership of their submissions. However, by entering the competition, participants grant North American Virtuoso International Music Competition a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and perform the submissions in connection with the competition and for promotional purposes related to the competition.
5. Compliance: All submissions must comply with the guidelines set forth by YouTube or Vimeo, including but not limited to copyright and content guidelines.
6. Deadlines: Applications must be made by the deadline of 31 May 2024. Submissions must be received by the deadline of 19 June 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.
7. Judging and Evaluation: Submissions will be evaluated based on criteria specified by the competition jury, including but not limited to musicality, creativity, innovation, and alignment with the competition's themes and objectives.
8. Disqualification: Failure to adhere to these rules and regulations may result in disqualification from the competition.
9. Amendments: North American Virtuoso International Music Competition reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes.
10. Quality and Standards: North American Virtuoso International Music Competition reserves the right to withhold prizes if the quality of projects submitted does not meet the competition's standards and requirements for selection. The determination of quality and adherence to competition standards is at the sole discretion of the judging panel. Participants are encouraged to thoroughly review and comply with these criteria and regulations to ensure their submissions are considered valid for competition evaluation.
